Battleship

I had it pegged: Eric actually dropped me an email early this morning wondering if I’d be around tonight. Indeed I had been so I told him about that and we met up to chat for a while.
Eric is usually subdued in his nature. I haven’t seen him get passionately excited over anything good or bad before (with the exception of good things in bed). Today things were different.
His son is pretty messed up from the sounds of things. He took a dive one night and brought a party over to the house one night and that was it. The cops took him down and due to all the chemicals in his body plus the excitement of the events going on, his son had a kind of shock I guess and ended up needing to be rushed to emergency. They did whatever they had to there and Eric said afterwards his son began to tell them everything he was doing in his life – how long he had been involved with the drugs – and everything he had been taking: cocaine, speed, heroin… he was really fucked up.
Apparently Eric’s son lost his job half a year ago. He had something that paid well and was living with this girl. Eric used to tell me about her – Chantelle – she was a moneymonger and he was certain that was why she was with Leif to begin with. He knew her better than I, and Eric doesn’t make snap judgments on people like that. Eric doesn’t know how or when Leif and Chantelle began to use all this stuff but he figures they were doing it together before they broke up. They only broke up when Chantelle found out Leif lost his job. Eric said she just left her clothes and everything, packed an Addidas bag with a few things and took off for her sister’s house.
Leif was left without work and with the habit. Things fell, he owed money and when he discovered how much he could make selling the stuff, he capitalized on that. Leif is a really risky person, but it didn’t take long before everything crashed – this was all the breaking point.
Now he is in detox and Eric isn’t sure what the prognosis of everything is going to be. Not medically speaking – but mentally speaking, on Leif’s part. I have never been witness to Eric upset before, so I was all together curious to know how he reacted to this when it all hit the roof. Usually he is like me, and the majority of the time he reacts in a very controlled manner.

According to Eric, he and his wife are also on non-speaking terms at this present time. When he wrote that in our chat session I figured for certain it was her because that was how she dealt with things. We have discussed this at length – our (ex)spouses too – and I couldn’t see it coming from him. However, I suspect there is something going on I am not fully aware of between the two of them over this because Eric wrote in a response “…and I just can’t forgive her for this right now…”.
Poor guy - what a shitty Christmas for him.

Yet, we had a really nice chat for a while before he had to leave because his wife was coming home. He sent me a photo he had taken of me sucking him off last year and just wrote “Merry Christmas” across it. What a way with words: simple, yet powerful.

My brother Quinn is here and it’s been really fun talking with him. It has been a while, but he is doing fine for himself and that is all that matters. He has a hard time dealing with people in life so that gives him a lot of stress, although he deals with it remarkably. I listen to him natter away about things I really don’t care about – what is going on in today’s politics… the news… that kind of thing. Quinn’s not an open person when it comes to speaking about his life. He’s a bachelor and loves having that freedom although a lot of the women would love to see him married (to them). Quinn was blessed with gorgeous eyes and dark features like dad, and he keeps himself well.
Well………………. I suppose we’ll have fun. We are going to drink wine, blast a few and play some Battleship.
